Create accounts & sign-in links

You don’t need to pick a password for your client. You send them a sign-in link, and they choose their own details the first time they use it.

  1. Go to Client portal → Users.

  2. Click the create user button (the person-with-a-plus icon) in the toolbar.

  3. Fill in the Create user form:

    Field What it’s for
Nickname A private name that only admins see, such as their real name or “VIP Client”.
Username (optional) Leave it blank to let them choose. If you set one, they can still change it when they first sign in.
Phone number (optional) Handy for your own records.
How was this user checked if they were over 18? Note how you checked they’re an adult. Tap Had session or Checked ID to fill it in quickly, or Other to write your own. Don’t keep a copy of their ID.
  4. Click Create User.

Only make an account for someone you’ve checked is over 18. You need at least a nickname or a username. Once the account is created, you’ll see its sign-in link straight away. Copy it and send it to your client.

A sign-in link logs someone in without a password.

  • A link lasts 72 hours from when you create it.
  • The link stays valid until it expires, even after it’s been opened, so your client can use it more than once.
  • If the user changes their password, all their outstanding links stop working.

To make a new link for an existing user:

  1. Go to Client portal → Users and click Edit next to the user.
  2. Under Other actions, click Sign-in link.

All current links appear in the Sign-in Links section at the bottom of the Users page, along with who created each one and when it expires. Click View link to copy a link again.

To see expired links, tick Show dead links. Click Re-activate to bring an old link back. It then gets a fresh 72 hours.
