Connecting your own agent

You can connect an AI agent on your computer. This allows you to:

• Work on your site without opening the admin panel.
• Connect cutting edge frontier AI models
• Integrate your site into wider workflows

To connect an agent:

1. Go to Settings → Agents.
2. Under Connect an agent, pick your agent’s tab: Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode.
3. Select Copy prompt and paste it into your agent. (If you’d rather, open Or run the commands yourself and run them.)
4. Your browser opens. Log in if asked, then choose the access for each area: No access, See or See & change.
5. Allow the connection.

You can use any agent that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth. Click “Other”, and connect using the Server address shown there. It also links a skill file with instructions for the agent. Most agent harnesses ship with skills to self document their MCP process, so check with your agent first.

Tip

Only admins can connect an agent, and an agent can only ever see client accounts, never admin accounts, passwords or keys.

Approving an agent’s changes

Like SophieBot, an agent makes drafts straight away but asks before changing anything visitors or clients would see. It gathers its changes and gives you an approval link.

1. Open the link (or find it under Waiting for your approval on Settings → Agents).
2. Check each change. You’ll see before and after values, colour swatches and photo thumbnails.
3. Tick the changes you want to decide on.
4. Optionally add a note for the agent, for example “Keep the old accent colour, the rest is fine.”
5. Select Approve selected or Deny selected.

Changes you don’t decide on expire after 7 days. Past requests are listed under Recently decided. Notes are helpful if you have AI agents autonomously improving your site and checking your feedback.

Managing connected apps

Connected apps on Settings → Agents lists:

• every agent that’s connected
• who connected it
• when it was last used
• the agent’s access for each area.

If you would like to let an agent make changes in an area without asking, you can enable Changes without asking. We’d recommend being careful with this option, as AI isn’t perfect and can make mistakes.

Once you disconnect an agent, it will lose access on it’s next tool call. Any data it accessed up to that point may still be in your conversations.

An agent loses access if the admin who connected it stops being an admin.
