SophieBot

SophieBot is the AI assistant built into the admin panel.

Chatting with SophieBot

Open SophieBot from the admin toolbar. The panel stays open as you move between admin pages, and it knows which page you’re on. On a larger screen you can drag its left edge to make it wider (double-click the edge to reset it).

SophieBot can edit pages, write blog posts, sort photos and adjust your styling, within the access you’ve given it (see Choosing what SophieBot can do).

While SophieBot is working you can:

• press Stop (or Esc) to stop it
• keep typing: extra messages are queued and sent when it finishes
• press Try again if something went wrong

When SophieBot doesn’t have access

If you ask for something SophieBot isn’t allowed to do, it tells you in a notice in the chat. When more access would let it help, the notice has an Allow access button.

1. Select Allow access.
2. Confirm with Allow access (or Cancel). SophieBot still asks you before changing anything visitors would see.
3. SophieBot carries on with your request.

This changes SophieBot’s access for that area, the same as on Settings → Agents.

Approving changes

When SophieBot wants to change something visitors would see, such as publishing a page, changing colours or deleting a photo, it shows you a card in the chat instead of doing it.

1. Read the summary on the card. It shows what’s changing, before and after.
2. Select Compare to see your live site next to the changed version.
3. Select Apply change (or, for several at once, Apply 3 changes and so on) to go ahead, or Don’t apply / Deny to refuse.

If you refuse, SophieBot carries on with the rest of what you asked and checks with you rather than quietly dropping anything.

• Drag the divider, or use Before, Split and After to jump.
• Scroll to move down the page.
• If the change appears on more than one page (for example, a new colour), you can switch between those pages at the top.

Nothing is saved while you compare.

Giving SophieBot files

SophieBot can use photos, fonts and text files from your computer.

1. Select the paperclip, then Files or Folder. You can also drop files onto the panel.
2. Ask SophieBot what to do with them, for example “add these photos to my Portraits collection”.

Your files stay on your computer until SophieBot needs one. They’re forgotten if you fully reload the admin panel, so mount them again if that happens.

Conversations

• Select Start a new conversation to begin again. Your current conversation is kept.
• Select Previous conversations to find and carry on an earlier one.
